Decor, puppies, and life lately

Autumn is here in full swing, and we've got the house completely decorated inside and out. I love decorating for Halloween because I'm a big fan of pumpkins and anything creepy. I found this creepy clown jack-in-the-box at Walgreens a few years ago and it's definitely the scariest thing I've ever bought. A scary little girl whispers to you while you crank the handle, and when the clown pops out he screams. It's the best. ^_^
My past few weeks have been filled with puppy snuggles and lots of love from these two cuties. Roxie (the one in the first and last photos) has been sick for the last few days with stomach problems, so I've been sleeping on the couch with her since she couldn't go upstairs. And Sami is just a snuggle bunny 24/7, so that's nothing new.
My life lately, although busy, has been so wonderful. I'm currently studying 1 & 2 Peter with the She Reads Truth gals, and God is speaking so strongly to my heart right now. He's teaching me to be more humble, to not stress and worry over any obstacles that come my way, and to put my focus on serving and helping others. I feel an insane sense of peace studying His Word every day and find so much comfort in His promises.

What else has been going on in my life? Rainy days, reorganizing, decluttering, staying up late, getting up early, lots of work, wearing layers, flannel shirts, obsessing over neutrals, watching scary movies, lots of sushi...yep, that's about it! :) What have you been up to lately? xo, Mandy

Autumn is my favorite time of the year for fashion (hence the rather large wishlist for this month, haha). I like that the colors are usually more muted and can be mixed easier, plus you can layer pieces like crazy thanks to the chilly fall weather. Autumn is when I break out all of my tights, cardigans, plaid shirts, and snuggly sweaters. 

A weekend full of worship | Designed For Life 2014

Last weekend was so much fun! It was the 10th annual Designed For Life conference, a 3-day event created by the female pastors from my church that is devoted to women's fellowship and studying God's word. I went last year for the first time and it was an amazing experience, but this year was even better because it's grown so big that it had to be moved from our church to a large arena downtown. So many sisters in Christ gathered together to celebrate how awesome He is and the beauty of being strong, compassionate women. I learned so much, and feel closer to God than I ever have before. And even though I was only able to attend on Friday, I was able to watch the other sessions online (which was a huge blessing!). So many good things from this weekend, I'm so thankful!

Fall + Winter 2014 Color Palette

Every season, I like to put together a color palette to use as inspiration for fashion, decor, makeup, etc. Fall/Winter is slowly becoming my favorite time of the year for color inspiration - I love mixing deep, moody shades with pops of lighter neutrals and muted pastels. Currently, I've been really drawn to blushes, creams, and taupes for fashion and accessories. I'll also throw some wine-colored pieces into the mix from time to time, to add some darkness. Copper + plum is a combo I've been wanting to play around with using makeup...I've got an idea for a possible makeup look, would you guys care to see a tutorial?

Essie Winter 2014 Collection

Essie's seasonal collections always steal my heart. Their Fall 2014 Collection was stunning - I picked up Dressed To Kilt and Style Cartel and am IN LOVE. Their newest collection, which just came out a few days ago, is definitely one of my favorite's that they've released.

5 Tips For Blogging Everyday

I remember making the change a few years ago from blogging once or twice a week to blogging every day. I felt that I was at that point in my blogging career where I was ready to make the commitment, but boy was I terrified. Blogging every single day was a pretty intimidating challenge...I never would've imagined I'd be blogging 10 times a week just a couple years later. ^_^
