52 Weeks of Smoothies: Green Machine

This smoothie was kind of created on accident. I was super busy the other day and needed a quick lunch, so I just threw a bunch of things in the nutribullet and hoped for the best. Surprisingly, the smoothie I made tasted just like a Naked Juice Green Machine! I was instantly in love! ♥
Green Machine Smoothie, serves 1
1 cup freshly washed kale or spinach
1 banana, sliced and frozen
4-5 frozen strawberries
1/2 cup mango + pineapple, chopped and frozen
2 Tbsp flax + chia seeds (optional)
2 Tbsp raw almonds + pumpkin seeds
1 1/2 cups cold spring water
1-2 squirts liquid stevia (optional, to taste)

Today's the last day of January and I am so happy to say that I've accomplished a whole month of making smoothies, eating clean, and getting more active. Every day hasn't been perfect (and they never will be), but I'm incredibly proud of myself. Normally my resolve crumbles as soon as I eat something non-healthy. My mind-set used to be that if I ate anything bad...if my day wasn't completely 100% perfect...then there goes the day and I'll just start again tomorrow. It was a vicious cycle, but with the implementation of small, lifestyle changes, I've been able to change how I think about health and food and moderation. It's no longer an all-or-nothing type of thing. I feel pretty great and I think that's awesome! :)

I was thinking about writing up a big post about all of the lifestyle changes I've been making, but wasn't sure if anyone would be interested...what do you guys think? Do you have anything specific that you'd like for me to discuss? Let me know! xo, Mandy

  2. Wow, I'd love a post like that, personally I'd find it really inspiring!! Also, I love how you explained your change in perspective about things and how it's helping you change your lifestyle, not just the things you're doing to change it. I would love things liked that in the post!!

  3. I would love to see a post on your healthy lifestyle changes! I've also been eating healthier this month and my body has been loving it! I started drinking 1-2 smoothies a day and now I can't start my day without one!

  7. Please post about the lifestyle changes you've been making! I decided to start eating better and taking care of myself and I'm kind of at a lost on where to even begin. In the past, I've had the all or nothing attitude as well and that makes it hard to stay motivated if I have a cheat day or whatnot. I would love to hear how you stay positive and motivated and what you do when you hit a roadblock. Also, what other changes you've made to reach your goals. I pretty much want to hear it all :) You've definitely inspired me to start my own journey, thank you!
